Welcome to Confessions of a Horror Freak, a space dedicated to horror movies, reviews, and the latest updates from the genre. Here, horror isn’t just for Halloween, it’s celebrated all year long!.
The website began as a horror blog on June 13, 2020, during the COVID-19 quarantine as a personal hobby. What started as a place to share thoughts about horror films quickly grew into a larger platform. Today, Confessions of a Horror Freak also includes a YouTube channel and podcast, where creator and film critic Amanda shares horror movie reviews, commentary, and monthly lists of new horror releases in theaters and streaming platforms.
Amanda is a Puerto Rican horror film critic born and raised in Puerto Rico, where she currently resides. She is a member of the Puerto Rico Critics Association (PRCA) and CherryPicks. Amanda holds a Business Degree in Marketing from the University of the Sacred Heart in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Her love for horror started early. Amanda began watching horror movies at the age of five, thanks to her mother, and the genre quickly became a lifelong passion. Over the years, horror has become more than just entertainment, it’s a huge part of her personality. From classic monsters to modern psychological horror, Amanda enjoys exploring every corner of the genre. And yes, just like Wendy Torrance says in The Shining, “she’s a horror film addict.”
That passion for horror naturally spilled into everyday life. Halloween became her favorite holiday, spooky aesthetics became second nature, and wearing black outfits year-round became the norm.
Through Confessions of a Horror Freak, Amanda shares her horror movie reviews, opinions, and recommendations, with the goal of helping fellow fans discover new films, revisit classics, and stay updated with the latest horror releases. Whether you’re looking for your next scary movie or just want to keep up with what’s coming to theaters and streaming services, you’ll find it here.
